The Bones are out!

I just drove 15 hours to the boarder of Alaska so i could drop a line in a river and catch a fish. Was it worth it? YES, every second.
I drifted two rivers for four days in Terrace BC and saw some great things. All the Salmon skeletons decorated the rivers edge, teeth from decomposed animals that couldn't survive the winter and huge eagles sat in the trees, waiting for an unsuspecting fish to slurp a breath of the fresh spring air. I love exploring!

New Short Film TEASER

Canada is not making a Snowboard movie this season. so some friends of mine (Dom Grimard & Jamie Shaw), myself and a few other riders got together to make something to watch. we have the budget of a native amazonian family, but we enjoy making snowboard films and hope this one does what we set out for it to do.... "make people want to go snowboarding". thats all i can ask a good film to do.

please watch the teaser and let me know what you think!

Helicopter scoping mission

This is what we get to do sometimes when we get board of the same old shred-lines. we lock down a Heli and go find new ones. sometime my Buddy Jonas just calls me up and wants to do breakfast at his Ranch, but i hate driving there so he rounds up a helicopter because we're that cool muther-fuckahs! :)

Jonas is a world Famous hunt guide in the fall. i grew up with him, graduated with him and have snowboarded with him since we were wee lads. he has shared a part with me in… read more →

Road side lines, CANADA

I've been riding a bunch of road side lines this month. no lift ticket prices, speed zones, no avalanche control, no one else's tracks. its incredible!
Here are a few images from Alex Nawrocky, an Oregon based photographer who accompanied me and my friend Sean Berrett last week on the road.

see them all here @ Snowboard magazine.com:

Andrew Meets The Starwars Trees

Luke sky walker is a pussy. try strapping a blown out rock board with revers camber to your feet then firing down an icy single track as fast as you can without those little fuzzy freak ewalks to bail you out if something happens.
well anyway, here is a quick film of a tree run i did yesterday in Lake Louise Alberta, Canada. tons of fun and i almost smashed a few trees with my skull. hayyyyyyy!

Jedi trees. Love blasting through there after the lines you ride to get there. Nice shot.

Fishing in the Kootenay Mountains.

Fishing gives me time to think. staring at moving water all day in pursuit of carnivorous fish. i always come up with film idea when i fish. some make it to the editing room, others die before i step out of the water. i get ideas for snowboarding photos, films, lines, and so much more. try it sometime if you ever need inspiration!
**my friend (Chris Messervey) made this vid from this Falls footage on a river near my place in Banff. killer days!
