August is SALT month

i have now deemed August as the month of salt. so i decided to get started on smoking some fine Himalayan, Natural sea, and earth salts. i tested several different types and combinations of woods and how they bonded to the salt through smoking it, and i came up with a few favorites.
an Apple Hickory mix and a Mesquite solo seemed to blow my taste buds away. if you want to get into some quality Tequila try crushing a single rock of Mesquite smokes natural earth coarse salt between your teeth right before every slow sip of that beautiful beverage. it will take the bite out of the drink and expose several other flavors you never thought existed in tequila before.
if your doing corn or veggies on the BBQ, hit that stuff with some Apple/Hickory fine sea salt several minutes before eating it as well as lightly during the cooking process. it will create a smoky flavor that can only be matched by several hours in a smoker. oh the flavors of summer!!!!
i smoke the salts on low heat (110oF) for 3 hours and then let cool before storing in air tight containers. enjoy!!!
