Sweden Millencolin Open
Sweden's biggest annual skateboard contest is arranged by the Swedish punkrock band, and weactivists, Millencolin in their hometown Örebro. This years edition will go down 13:th to 15:th of february. Great parties every night with live music and DJ's and a Skateboard Expo always makes it a packed party weekend!
This year is the seventh edition of the event. Mika Edin, Love Eneroth, Wieger Van Wageningen, Lewis Marnell, Mark Baines, Foppa Forsberg, Steve Forstner and Chris Astrom are just a few well known international names that's entered the contest over the years. The event is always very well covered by magazines, web, newspapers and tv stations.
The contest is open for both amateurs and pro's to compete in the divisions junior, senior and girl. Qualifications starts friday 13 at 2pm. Semi finals followed by finals starts saturday 2pm. Sign up at the counter before the contest or do it before online at urlwww.tacky.se/url
Backyard Babies and Bullet are performing live at the Friday party at Club 700.
DJ's Stockholm Beat Connection and Kuba are playing hip hop and dance music and Giftorm Sound System got the rock bar going at Frimis Saturday night.
This years Expo is called Boutique Fresh Skate Bazar and will be open saturday and sunday at Kulturhuset very close to the contest. The venue is a theatre with balconies where skateboard companies and distributors display and sell their products. An 8 step staircase with ledges is set up down the stage and a Best Trick contest will finish the weekend there sunday at 3pm.

Weactivists Millencolin is one of Europe's absolute biggest punk rock bands with over two million records sold and way past 1000 gigs performed world wide. Millencolin are now on tour with their current album "Machine 15" released april 2008. Canada, USA and Europe dates are already confirmed for the spring 2009 and more to be announced soon.
